PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutting device that can be operated by one action to securely provide proper tension to an optical fiber, and then cut it. SOLUTION: As an optical fiber element wire A is clamped on a slide base 17, a lever 12 is pulled toward a handle 11, so that a tension providing spring 20 is pulled through a tension providing link 22 to provide tension to the slide base 17. As the lever 12 is then pulled further, a cutting actuation permitting link 32 is actuated to rotate a cutting actuation permitting link 29 clockwise by a rotary blade actuation spring 30. A cutter base 28 is thus moved up to form a cut in the optical fiber element wire by a cutter 27, and it is broken by tension of the tension providing spring 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
