PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a wireless communication terminal and a control method in the wireless communication terminal adopting a hybrid method wherein one of the two available communication systems is selected for communication. SOLUTION: The wireless communication terminal using first and second communication systems to make wireless communication with a base station 100 and capable of awaiting communication in both systems includes: a setting means for setting a waiting time to await the arrival of a signal from the base station 100 in the first communication system in succession to the termination of the communication with the base station 100 using the first communication system; and a discrimination means for discriminating the cause of the termination of the communication with the base station 100.
