PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the range of an operation condition capable of self-ignition combustion more than before. SOLUTION: The engine is capable of 2-cycle self ignition operation, and is provided with a supercharger for enhancing a charging air pressure by using an exhaust energy. A catalyst layer 16a having an oxidation catalyst is arranged to an exhaust passage 16 which is on an upstream side of the supercharger. A revolution applying member 200 for applying revolution to a flow of an exhaust gas passing inside the exhaust passage is arranged to a position of the catalyst layer 16a or to an upstream side of the catalyst layer 16a.
