PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear compressor which is radially and axially compact, equipped with a degree of freedom in an installation direction, and easy to build in equipment. SOLUTION: A moving part 30 of a linear motor 70 is provided in the inside of a piston 10. A stator 40 is provided along the inside peripheral face of a cylinder 20. A magnetic circuit is constituted through a sliding part 12 of the piston 10. The piston 10 is linked to a movable-member holding part 51 by a flexible piston-holding rod 50.
