The container for a free flowing or pourable product, and especially a storage container for wine, has a volume variable element (2) inside the container (1). This element is a receptacle which has an opening (3) accessible from outside the container. The element may consist of a plastic film. A hose can be inserted through the opening into the receptacle. The container may have a ventilation opening (5) through which extends the access to the receptacle. The opening is closed off by a valve (6).
