The torsional vibration absorber (1) is screwed (5) to a flange (3) at the crankshaft with a hub (2) provided at both ends with vibration absorbing elements (6) made of sheet metal. The elements (6) are made in a shape following the outer contours of the hub (2). The outer ends of the torsional vibration absorber (1) are assembled of two metal layers (8, 10) with a central layer of a polymer (9) between them. A single layer (10) covers the central area (4) and two layers (14) are positioned in the transitional sector (11).
