The opening roof of a vehicle has an adjustable cover (4) below which is a manually movable sliding lining (5), and a drive unit (10) which by means of at least one operating cable (13,14) adjusts the cover. A damper (24) is installed between the sliding lining and the outlet end (19) of the operating cable. The sliding lining has a driver component which is in engagement with the damper and is in the form of a support component (20,21), or part of a support component of the sliding lining.
