Fan device for a motor vehicle has a double blower (6) with first (7) and second (8) blower drives and a control unit (4) for controlling the second of the blower drives. The first blower drive is controlled by a switch (9, 14) that is controlled by a pulse width modulated signal (13.1, 13.2). An Independent claim is made for a fan device with double blowers in which one blower drive is controlled by the control unit and the second is controlled by a slave output (12) from the control unit.
