PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel driving method enabling prevention of erroneous lighting resulting from strong discharge even when the strong discharge cannot be prevented due to the occurrence of weak discharge by application of a ramp wave whose potential varies with time, and consequently enabling prevention of flickers resulting from the erroneous lighting. SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel driving method, auxiliary erasing pulse voltage Phe which carries out erasing operation only when an erasing failure takes place is applied to a common electrode 10 successively to the ramp wave.
