PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile server capable of enabling a client to easily perform processing such as storing of image data or printing, and reducing the size of an electronic mail to be sent, in transferring the image data received by facsimile. SOLUTION: Upon receiving the image data by facsimile (step 101), the facsimile server determines the distribution destination of the image data on the basis of facsimile communication procedure signals transmitted before the image data (step 102), stores the mail address of the distribution destination (step 103), and stores the image data in a storing area of an URL allocated by an FTP server (step 104). After that, a downloading program is attached to an electronic mail, the electronic mail is transmitted to the distribution destination (step 105), and the client executes the downloading program attached to the electronic mail (step 202).
