PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electric power consumption in a GPS receiver. SOLUTION: In the case the acquisition of almanac data or ephemeris data from GPS satellites is completed, the order of priority of the GPS satellites for allotting a satellite of a high angle of elevation as the highest level, a satellite of a low level of elevation as an intermediate level, and a receivable satellite as the lowest level to each reception channel of a receiving part 3 is set on the basis of approximate locations or detailed locations of the satellites determined by a satellite location computing part 7. A satellite selecting part 10 selects the GPS satellites to be positioned on the basis of the order of priority. A clock control part 8 supplies a clock signal via a clock signal line 9 for only the reception channels to which the selected satellites are allotted.
