PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant storage container 6 requiring no pressure resistance strength, and a refrigerant filling method using the same. SOLUTION: An absorbent 1 is filled in the container 6, and a refrigerant is sealed and stored in the container 6 at less than 2 atmosphere pressure. Since the absorbent 1 sucks and holds a gas refrigerant, the refrigerant can be stored even at the atmosphere pressure. Since the pressure of less than 2 atmosphere pressure is within the range under without being subject to the regulation of a high-pressure gas safety law, the adsorption amount can be increased than at the atmosphere by pressing within this range. The container can be an inexpensive refrigerant storage container 6 requiring no pressure resistance strength since it is not subject to the regulation of the high-pressure gas safety law. Since the refrigerant storage container 6 can be handled even by the person except an exclusive person acquiring the gas input operation, and the refrigerant storage container 6 to be finished being used can be disposed in the same way as usual empty cans, the container management and the new infrastructure building for recycling or the like are not required.
