PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce load onto an oil pump by releasing the oil from a relief valve once to an oil chamber, thus reducing pressure loss. SOLUTION: An inlet passage and an outlet passage are connected with the oil chamber. A separator with lower specific gravity than oil is disposed inside the oil chamber. Relief oil flows into the oil chamber from the inlet passage and, as the relief oil flows, a separator moves upward to open the outlet passage. As the relief oil flows out from the outlet passage, the separator moves downward and, when no oil remains in the oil chamber, the separator closes the outlet passage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
