PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently record images without lowering the recording object quality. SOLUTION: The ink-jet printer 1 has transfer rollers 3a and 3b for transferring a recording medium 99 in a transfer direction A; recording heads 5-8 and a carriage 11 for recording the images to the recording medium 99 with the use of ink which is cured by irradiation of light or irradiation heat; ultrasonic ray irradiating members 9 and 10 for irradiating ultraviolet rays to the ink hit on the recording medium 99; a sensor 13 for detecting an illuminance of the ultraviolet rays irradiated from the ultraviolet ray irradiating members 9 and 10; and a control part (omitted from the illustration) for controlling each of the transfer rollers 3a and 3b, recording heads 5-8 and carriage 11. In the ink-jet printer 1, the control part switches a recording mode of the recording heads 5-8 and carriage 11 on the basis of the detected result of the sensor 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
