PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high purity aluminum alloy material which can be used as the material composing a plasma reactor, and has sufficient strength. SOLUTION: The high purity aluminum alloy material has a composition comprising, by mass, 0.4 to 2.1% magnesium and 0.4 to 1.2% silicon, and in which the magnesium content satisfies the inequality (1), and the content of impurities is≤0.1%: 1.70×C<SB>Si</SB>-1%≤C<SB>Mg</SB>≤1.70×C<SB>Si</SB>(1); wherein, C<SB>Mg</SB>denotes the magnesium content (mass%); and C<SB>Si</SB>denotes the silicon content (mass%), respectively. The high purity aluminum alloy material is a cast ingot material obtained by casting, or a plastic-worked material obtained by subjecting the cast ingot material to plastic working.
