PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cook a menu by a heating control method different from rice cooking while having a user visually confirm a cooking state. SOLUTION: A rice cooker 100 controls the time to heat an inner pot 106 and a temperature to heat it by a hot plate 130. The rice cooker 100 comprises; an input key 120 with which the user inputs information; a detection switch 118 for detecting the state that a lid 104 covering the upper part of the rice cooker 100 is opened; a thermosensitive body 134 for measuring the temperature of the inner pot 106; a storage part 164 for storing predetermined values required for controlling the hot plate 130; and a CPU 160 and a relay contact point 162 for controlling the hot plate 130 by a condition specified by the value stored in the storage part 164 on the basis of a result measured by the thermosensitive body 134 in response to the fact that the information instructing heating of the inner pot 106 is inputted to the input key 120 and it is detected that the lid 104 is in an open state by the detection switch 118.
