PURPOSE: An intervertebral fusion device is provided to file a disc space with graft material. CONSTITUTION: The device includes: an anterior wall(11) having a convex horizontal cross section, a posterior wall(21), first and second end walls(31) positioned between the anterior and posterior walls, an upper bearing surface positioned between the anterior and posterior walls and having at least one upper opening, and a lower bearing surface having an anterior portion and at least one lower opening. The anterior and lower openings are in communication to promote bony fusion through the device. The anterior wall has a middle portion and lateral end portions, each having a maximum height. The maximum height of the middle portion is greater than the maximum height of the lateral end portion.
