摘要 PURPOSE: An in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device is provided to improve the brightness of a screen by removing an organic passivation film formed at pixel areas, and prevent light loss generated in step part areas. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of gate lines(101) and a plurality of data lines(103) are arranged on a first substrate for defining pixel areas. A gate insulating film is interposed between the gate lines and the data lines over a whole surface of the first substrate. An organic passivation film(211) is formed on the data lines except the pixel areas, and has a step part at a border part adjacent to the data lines. An optical interrupting line is formed on the first substrate corresponding to the step part of the organic passivation film. A common electrode(206) is formed on the gate insulating film of the pixel areas, and is overlapped with the data lines and a part of the organic passivation film in parallel with the data lines. Pixel electrodes(107) are arranged in parallel with the common electrode, and generates a horizontal electric field with the common electrode in the pixel areas.
