ACRYL MODIFIED POLYESTER RESIN AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An acryl modified polyester resin and its preparation method are provided to improve the chemical and physical stabilities of the composition used as the paint for a PCM steel sheet. CONSTITUTION: The acryl modified polyester resin is obtained by condensation polymerizing a polyvalent alcohol and a polybasic acid in a solvent to prepare a polyester resin; and polymerizing the polyester resin with an unsaturated polybasic acid to prepare a polyester resin intermediate represented by R-CH2-O-CO-CHCH-X; and polymerizing the polyester resin intermediate with an acryl monomer, wherein R is a polyester polymer residue; and X is a methyl group or a carboxyl group. Preferably the polyester resin intermediate has an average molecular weight of 1,500-15,000, an OH value of 1-20 mg KOH/g and an acid value of 3-30 mg KOH/g.
