PURPOSE: A method for fabricating an LCD(liquid crystal display) is provided to prevent a seal from being broken and facilitate a TAB(tape automated bonding) repair process. CONSTITUTION: A gate insulating layer(303), an amorphous silicon layer(304), and a doped amorphous silicon layer(305) are sequentially formed on a transparent substrate(300) on which a gate bus line, a gate electrode(301) and a gate pad(301a) and selectively etched to form an active layer. A metal layer is formed on the substrate and selectively etched to form source and drain electrodes(306a,306b), a data bus line and a data pad(308). An organic layer(307) is formed on the overall surface of the substrate and patterned to form a contact hole on the drain electrode and to remove portions of the organic layer, placed on the gate pad and data pad. The gate insulating layer is etched using the organic layer having the contact hole as a mask to expose the gate pad. A metal layer is formed on the overall surface of the substrate to form a reflection electrode.
