PURPOSE: A method for coloring stone is provided to give various colors and textures of stone, thereby having a wide application including an interior, exterior and decorative use. The colors coated on the stone by using the method are hardly changed by various chemicals or UV light for a long time. CONSTITUTION: The method for coloring stone comprises the steps of: (S1) cutting stone to a certain size and trimming the stone; (S2) washing the stone then drying; (S3) preparing a coloring mixture comprised of 15-70wt% of an organic solvent, 1-5wt% of a dye which is soluble in the organic solvent, 2-10wt% of a colorant and 5-30wt% of a thermosetting resin for attaching the dye and the colorant to the surface of the stone; (S4) applying electric current to the coloring mixture from the step (S3) for electrolysis; (S5) immersing the stone in the coloring mixture from the step (S4) for coloring; and (S6) washing and drying the colored stone. The method optionally comprise (S7) coating the stone from (S6) with a UV blocking agent comprised of 5-20wt% of a silver powder having a size of 20nm or less, 5-20wt% of titanium dioxide, 30-50wt% of polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) and 10-50wt% of a diluting agent.
