PURPOSE: A method for automatically locking a key pad of a wireless terminal is provided to automatically lock a key pad after predetermined time lapses, thereby preventing an unwanted call from being connected by erroneous key input and preventing another person from using a lost wireless terminal. CONSTITUTION: A controller of a wireless terminal confirms whether a call is terminated(201). The controller judges whether an automatic function for the wireless terminal is setup(202). If so, the controller operates a timer according to set time(203). It is judged whether a new key input signal enters when the timer is operating(204). If so, the timer is reset(206). It is judged whether the set time of the timer is completed(207). If so, a locking function of a key pad is operated(208).
