PURPOSE: A transflective LCD(liquid crystal display) and a method for manufacturing the LCD are provided to form a reflecting part under pixels to prevent deterioration of optical efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A transflective LCD includes a gate line(104) extending to one direction on a substrate, a data line(122) intersecting the gate line to define a pixel region including a reflection part and a transmission part, and a storage line(108) extending to one direction in parallel with the gate line. The LCD further includes a thin film transistor(T), a reflecting layer, and a transparent electrode(132). The thin film transistor is disposed at one side of the pixel region and includes a gate electrode(102), an active layer(112), and source and drain electrodes(116,118). The drain electrode has a portion extended to a region placed on the storage line. The reflecting layer is located corresponding to the reflection part and covers the storage line and thin film transistor. The transparent electrode is placed in the pixel region and connected to the drain electrode. |
