PURPOSE: An optical disk reproduction device having an RF(Radio Frequency) equalizing device is provided to control a peak frequency and a boosting amount, and to optimally control RF equalizer characteristics according to characteristics of a disk to be reproduced, thereby improving readability of various types of disks. CONSTITUTION: An RF equalizer(20) compensates for RF characteristics of an inputted RF signal. An RF slicer(13) and an EFM(Eight-to-Fourteen Modulation) demodulator(14) convert a signal outputted from the RF equalizer(20) into a pulse wave, and extract predetermined data from the converted pulse wave. A junk detector(21) decides whether the extracted data is junk data including an error. A controller(23) outputs a control value to the RF equalizer(20), and searches an optimal control value for minimizing the frequency of the junk data.
