RATE-LIMIT MOTION ESTIMATION METHOD

PURPOSE: A rate-limit motion estimation method is provided to improve the compression efficiency by realizing effective motion estimation part for removing temporal redundancy. CONSTITUTION: A rate-limit motion estimation method includes the steps of selecting an optimum weighting factor in the rate-limit motion estimation(S10), and estimating a motion vector by using the optimum weighting factor(S20). Statistic characteristics for residual signal coding is reflected from the motion vector estimation result(S30). The reflection result is used for carrying out zero motion vector preference(S40).
