The device has a light source placed at the rear end piece of a light conductor (2) and an output coupling element in front of a front end piece of the light conductor with output coupling geometry. The front end piece (3) is adjustable with respect to the output coupling element (1) at least in the horizontal direction to produce a variable light influence. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method for variable light influencing of a vehicle headlamp.
