The strip comprises a number of plates (1, 2) provided with a special end profile so that rainwater can drain away in a downwards direction between the adjoining plate end sections and into a groove or gutter-shaped coupling piece (4) for removal to an area away from the wall. Deformation due to changes in temperature and shrinkage can be absorbed by the plates.
