PURPOSE: A wastewater treatment agent for effectively removing COD (chemical oxygen demand) and chromaticity from various industrial sewage and wastewater through one injection process only is provided, and a method for preparing the same is provided. CONSTITUTION: The wastewater treatment agent for removing COD is characterized in that it is prepared by a preparation method of wastewater treatment agent for removing COD comprising a step (a) of preparing a cellulose derivative solution by mixing mercerized active cellulose powder with dimethylacetamide into which lithium chloride is dissolved; a step (b) of preparing a m-phenylenediamine solution by adding m-phenyleneamine and formalin to a hydrochloric acid aqueous solution, thereby cold dissolving m-phenyleneamine and formalin into the hydrochloric acid aqueous solution; a step (c) of injecting 5 to 20 weight parts of the m-phenylenediamine solution into 80 to 95 weight parts of the cellulose derivative solution so that a mixed solution thereof is reacted for two hours as maintaining the mixed solution to a temperature of 40 deg.C or less; a step (d) of forming a gel by additionally adding 5 to 20 weight parts of formalin to the reaction solution; a step (e) of drying the gel; a step (f) of reacting the heated mixture as agitating the mixture after injecting water and dicyanodiamide into the dried gel and heating a mixture thereof to a reaction temperature of 90 deg.C; and a step (g) of washing a reactant of the step (f), adding sodium hydroxide to the washed reactant so that a mixture thereof is alkali reacted, adding hydrochloric acid to the reactant so that the reactant is neutralized, and dehydrating and drying the neutralized material.
