PURPOSE: A method for variably controlling a data recording speed is provided to read/process the data temporarily stored in a buffer to record the data at predetermined recording speed, and to variably control a current data recording speed according to an amount of the stored data, thereby preventing a buffer under-run phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer performs a series of operations for recording data at predetermined recording speed(S10). The microcomputer detects/monitors an amount of data temporarily stored in a buffer(S11). If the amount of the data satisfies a reference range(S12), the microcomputer maintains a current recording speed. If the amount of the data is less than the reference range(S14), the microcomputer reduces the current data recording speed(S15). If the amount of the data exceeds the reference range(S16), the microcomputer increases the recording speed(S17). Until the data recording operation is completed(S18), the microcomputer repeats a variable controlling process for the data recording speed.
