PURPOSE: A device for processing a signal of an MIMO(Multi Input Multi Output) communication system and a method therefor are provided to carry out a space interleaving process in an MIMO system that applies a PARC(Per-Antenna Rate Control) method thereto, thereby obtaining a diversity gain in a space domain and improving communication quality. CONSTITUTION: A data generator generates data to be transmitted. A demultiplexer(310) distributes the data according to each antenna(360). A coding interleaving unit(320) interleaves coded bits transmitted according to each antenna(360), respectively. A spatial interleaving unit(330) collects the coded bits, and overall interleaves the collected bits. A modulation unit(340) modulates the data according to each antenna(360). A spreading/scrambling unit(350) spreads/scrambles the modulated data. The transmission antennas(360) transmit the modulated data.
