PURPOSE: A pixel structure of an active matrix LCD(liquid crystal display), a substrate for the LCD including the pixel structure, and a method for manufacturing the substrate are provided to efficiently connect pixels and maximize an aperture ratio. CONSTITUTION: A pixel structure of an active matrix LCD includes a thin film transistor, a metal pattern(116a), and a pixel electrode(130). The thin film transistor includes a gate electrode(112a) connected to a gate line(112), a source electrode and a drain electrode(116) connected to a data line(114). The metal pattern is connected to the drain electrode and superposed on the gate line having a gate insulating layer interposed between the metal pattern and gate line. The pixel electrode is connected to the metal pattern. The metal pattern is integrated with the drain electrode. A passiviation layer having a contact hole(122) is interposed between the metal pattern and pixel electrode such that the pixel electrode is connected to the metal pattern through the contact hole.
