PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for diagnosing a transmission path of a multi carrier transmission module are provided to improve accuracy of a transmission path verification by mounting a digital signal processor within a mobile communication base station system and using an undersampling method. CONSTITUTION: A signal selector(310) selectively receives an RF(Radio Frequency) signal according to a control signal. An IF(Intermediate Frequency) converter(320) downconverts the selected RF signal into an IF signal according to the control signal. A digital converter(330) converts the IF signal into a digital signal. A data extractor(340) demodulates an output signal of the digital converter(330) to extract sample data. A characteristic detector(350) detects characteristic of the sample data extracted in the data extractor(340). A controller(360) diagnoses a transmission path according to the characteristic of the sample data detected in the characteristic detector(350) to output the control signal to the signal selector(310) and the IF converter(320).
