PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to block contamination of an active region due to the diffusion of sealant by forming a diffuse preventive film of sealant between a liquid crystal injection port and an active region. CONSTITUTION: A lower substrate(101) is comprised of gate and data pad members(114,115), a seal region(116) and an active region(113). A sealant diffusion preventive film(104) is formed at an upper substrate(102). A liquid crystal is filled with a cell gap by a seal line(116) having a liquid crystal injection port(A'). A sealant(103) is formed at the liquid crystal injection port(A') so that the liquid crystal formed at the active region(113) is not flowed out to the outside. Gate and data pad members(114,115) are formed at the lower edge of the lower substrate(101), which does not overlapped with the upper substrate(102). The gate pad member(114) supplies gate signals supplied from a gate driver integration circuit to gate lines of the active region(113). The data pad member(115) supplies data signals supplied from a data driver integration circuit to data lines(109) of the active region(113).
