PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus is provided to prevent beam deviation caused due to charging of a spacer and achieve improved screen quality by arranging an electron trajectory correction electrode around an electron emission unit. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises an electron source substrate having a plurality of cold cathode type electron emission elements each of which is constituted by an electron emission portion(27) and a pair of element electrodes(23,24); an accelerating electrode opposed to the electron emission elements, and which applies accelerating voltages onto the electron emitted from the electron emission elements; a spacer(28) interposed between the electron source substrate and the accelerating electrode; a wiring portion arranged on the electron source substrate, and which drives the electron emission elements, wherein the electron source substrate, accelerating electrode, spacer, and the wiring portion are accommodated in an envelope; and an electron trajectory correction electrode(29) formed around the electron emission elements arranged in the vicinity of the spacer, wherein the electron trajectory correction electrode corrects beam deviation caused due to charging of the spacer.
