PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling temporary ID registration and communication relay is provided to allow a user to receive a call made to his/her phone through a third phone set installed at an arbitrary place by temporarily registering a user ID for the third phone. CONSTITUTION: A memory(220) stores programs and data for executing a temporary ID registration process and an Internet phone communication process. A communication interface module(270) transmits/receives a signal to and from an external phone set. A controller(210) analyzes a signal received from the communication interface module(270), and if the signal requests ID registration, the controller(210) executes an ID registration process. A vocoding module(240) converts an analog signal into a digital signal or digital signal to an analog signal. An IP network communication module(250) transmits ID registration information to a gatekeeper and transmits/receives data to a channel connected through the gatekeeper.
