PURPOSE: A method for synthetically testing wired/wireless LANs in a wired/wireless LAN composite system is provided to promptly and simply test a wired communication module and a wireless communication module in a wired/wireless LAN composite system having the wired/wireless communication modules. CONSTITUTION: A control part checks whether the wired/wireless link states of a wired/wireless LAN composite system are abnormal(300,310). If the wired/wireless link states are normal, the control part creates a test packet and transmits it to an access point by using a wired communication module(360). The access point transmits the test packet to a wireless communication module. The wireless communication module, if the test packet is normally received, judges that the transmitting state of the wired communication module and the receiving state of the wireless communication module are normal(362). Then the wireless communication module stores the normal state expressions in a RAM(364). The control part transmits a response test packet to the access point by using the wireless communication module(366). The access point transmits the response test packet to the wired communication module. The wired communication module, if the response test packet is normally received, stores the states of the wired/wireless communication modules in the RAM(370). The control part reports the test contents to the user(372).
