NETWORK EQUIPMENT MANAGING METHOD IN HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS SERVICE

PURPOSE: A network equipment managing method in a high speed Internet access service is provided to actively manage states of a network equipment by collecting state information of the network equipment at certain periods or on a real time basis. CONSTITUTION: When a regular testing mode is set by an operator GUI(S2), a test performing unit receives conditions on the regular testing from the operator GUI(S4) and stores it in a DB(S6). When current time arrives a test period(S8), the test performing unit performs a PING testing(S10). When the test performing unit receives a PING test response message from a corresponding network management equipment, it determines that the PING testing is successful(S12), requests socket communication from each network management equipment and then transmits a HELLO test request message to a network management equipment which has responded to the socket communication request to perform a HELLO testing(S16). When the test performing unit receives a HELLO test response message, it determines that the HELLO testing is successful(S18) and stores the results of the PING test and the HELLO test in the DB(S20).
