PURPOSE: A device and method for checking the regular position of a rotary table is provided to prevent the backlash of the rotary table by precisely checking the stop position of the rotary table. CONSTITUTION: A device for checking the regular position of a rotary table is composed of a rotary base(100), switches(230,240), and a rotary driving unit(200). At least one dog(221) is installed at the rotary base. A cylinder(210) is mounted to the rotary base, and moves the dog forward and backward. The switches check the forward/backward motion of the cylinder. A dog checking switch(251) is mounted to the rotary driving unit, and switches on/off according to the touch of the dog.
