PURPOSE: A safety cap for a pressure-release valve of a pressure cooker and a pressure cooker using the safety cap are provided to prevent a pressure-release valve from being blocked with a food particle by attaching a safety cap to the pressure-release valve by snap-fitting or thread-connection. CONSTITUTION: A safety cap comprises a slotted case body having many openings and an attachment frame fixed on the upper portion of the slotted case body. The attachment frame is placed in the center of the upper surface of the slotted case body. The slotted case body consists of an upper section and a main section. The lower side of the upper section is connected with the upper side of the main section. The slotted case body has a diameter longer than that of a pressure-release valve(16). The depth of the slotted case body is longer than the length of a lower portion(16B) of the pressure-release valve. The slotted case body holds a food particle during cooking.
