The pedestrian crossing, approached between illuminated bollards or through an arch (13) on the sidewalk (2), has illuminated curbs (4), crossing strips and edging (5). It also has warning lights (1) and an emitter (7) for a signal that can be picked up by a small receiver (8) carried by a visually-handicapped person. The illumination can be produced by high-intensity, low-voltage LEDs.
