PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the area occupied by a data line in half, thereby enhance an aperture ratio largely. CONSTITUTION: After forming the second source and drain electrodes(611,612), a passivation film(613) made of transparent insulation material is formed on the entire TFT(Thin Film Transistor) device. By removing the passivation film(613) on an upper portion of the first and second drain electrodes(602,612), contact holes(616,617) for electrically connecting with pixel electrodes(614,615) are formed. A transparent electrode film is formed and patterned on the passivation film(613) formed on the contact holes, so that the first pixel electrode(615) positioned at an upper portion of the first drain electrode and the second pixel electrode(616) positioned at an upper portion of the second drain electrode are formed. The first and second source electrodes have a vertical stack structure.
