PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to form an alignment film by coating a necessary quantity of alignment liquid through an ink jet method, thereby forming the alignment film with a uniform thickness on the entire of a substrate and reducing waste of cost in material. CONSTITUTION: Plural gate and data lines(101,102) for defining a pixel region(P) are formed on a transparent first substrate(100a). A TFT(Thin Film Transistor)(103), as a driving device, connected to the gate and data lines(101,102) is formed at the pixel region. A passivation film is formed on the entire surface of the TFT(103) and the pixel region(P). A transparent pixel electrode(105) is formed at the passivation film. A black matrix is formed on a transparent second substrate and thereafter a color filter is formed at the region corresponding to the pixel region. A common electrode is formed on the color filter. An alignment film is formed on the first and second substrates, respectively by using alignment liquid supplied from an ink jet system.
