PURPOSE: An emulator of a communication system is provided to facilitate verification of a base station modem and a channel card and shorten the term for developing a base station modem. CONSTITUTION: A demodulator(2) and decoder(5) restores and discriminate data received from a channel card through an external interface unit. A host digital signal processor interface unit(6) manages and controls time information of each function block, and controls communication between function blocks. A transmitter(1) performs encoding, interleaving, Walsh covering on data to be transmitted and spreads it. A channel modeling unit(8) models a maximum actual radio channel environment. A digital signal processor(7) controls the channel modeling unit(8) and performs calculation required for modeling the radio channel environment. A microcomputer(3) controls each function block.
