PURPOSE: A mortar composition for the protection and repair of concrete structures is provided, which improves adhesion of mortar and prevents the formation of cracks after repair work by containing surface-modified natural fibers unlike conventional fibers. CONSTITUTION: The concrete repair mortar comprises 0.3-3wt.% of surface-modified natural cellulose fibers, 25-30wt.% of cement, 30-35wt.% of silica #4, 16-22wt.% of silica #6, 10-15wt.% of cellite, 1-3wt.% of silica SP-1, 1.5-3wt.% of styrene acryl-based resin powder(Vinapass LL564), 1-4wt.% of silicafume, 0.1-1wt.% of antifoaming agent(agitan P803), 1-3wt.% of fluidifying agent(peramin SMF), and 0.5-3wt.% of natural cellulose fibers. The coating solution for surface modification of cellulose fibers is prepared by mixing 20-30wt.% of HNO3 solution(pH2-3) diluted with water, 22-30wt.% of isopropyl alcohol, 20-28wt.% of ethyl alcohol, 1-3wt.% of normal-hexane, 14-20wt.% of methyltrimethoxy silane(TSL8113), 0.5-2wt.% of decyltrimethoxy silane(KBM3103C), 9-11wt.% of acryl and 0.5-1.5wt.% of acetone. The surfaces of natural fibers are modified by stirring fibers into the coating solution, taking fibers out of the coating solution, and drying fibers with hot blast(80-100deg.C) for 5-10min.
