PURPOSE: A method for controlling a wireless network system having a resource management function and a control method thereof are provided to enable a DRNC(Drift Radio Network Controller) to inform an SRNC(Servicing RNC) of a resource state indicate message signal when sensing a failure alarm of a lower equipment during a handover process. CONSTITUTION: In an initial state(S1), a system processes a call signal requested by a terminal(S2). The system decides whether a handover process is currently performed in the terminal(S3). If so, an SRNC assigns a DCH(Dedicated Channel) resource to a DRNC so that the DRNC can keep managing a call of the terminal(S4). The SRNC decides whether a base station has a failure(S5). If so, the system generates a resource state message signal, and transmits the message signal to the SRNC(S6). The SRNC cancels the corresponding DCH resource of the DRNC in reference to the message signal(S7).
