摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is a preparation method of transition metal(M)-doped titanium dioxide powder, Ti1-xMxO2 powder, having very fine particle size(<=50nm), and high luminous activity and efficiency by mechanical alloying process, ball-milling of metastable titanium hydroxide(TiO(OH)2) and transition metals. CONSTITUTION: The transition metal(M)-doped titanium dioxide powder, Ti1-xMxO2 powder, is prepared by the following steps of: preparing 0.2-1.2M of titanyl chloride(TiOCl2) solution by mixing TiCl4 with ice water, resulting in 1.5M(or more) of TiOCl2 solution, and adding water (S12); keeping TiOCl2 solution at 100-130deg.C to form titanium hydroxide, TiO(OH)2, in a meta-stable state (S14); filtering the solution to get TiO(OH)2 precipitates (S16); drying precipitates at 60-90deg.C for 0.5-3hrs; mixing TiO(OH)2 with at least one transition metal(M) selected from Fe, Cr, V, Nb, Sb, Sn, Si and Al to be a mixture containing 0.0.-0.1mol% of M (S18); ball-milling the mixture over 8hrs (S20), wherein the weight ratio of mixture to ball is 13:1-25:1, the rotating speed is 100-300rpm, and the ball made of STS 313 with high abrasion resistance, has 2-16inch of size. The prepared Ti1-xMxO2 powder has less than 50nm of size and energy band gap absorbing visible light with a wave length of 380-770nm.
