PURPOSE: A method for preventing wrong recognition about deleted data of an optical recording device that can record data again is provided to quickly delete existing data, and to check whether information on the deleted existing data exists in a lead-in area when storing new data, so that the deleted existing data cannot be recognized as newly stored data. CONSTITUTION: An optical recording device stores the last track in a PMA(Program Memory Area)(1100). The optical recording device seeks a lead-in area of a CD-RW disk(1200), and stores current session information(1300). The optical recording device decides whether a stored session is the first session or more than the second session(1400). If the stored session is the first session, the optical recording device decides whether next session information to be stored in the read-in area exists(1500). If not, the optical recording device completes the procedure.
