PURPOSE: A hinge device for a portable information terminal is provided to coexist a weighty display device with an auto-lock function from an opening or closing angle, and a free-stop function by using a simple structure, when the display part is opened/closed to a keyboard main body. CONSTITUTION: A cam tool(4) and a free-cushion tool(15) are coaxially installed to a shaft. The cam tool comprises a fixed cam(10) penetrating the shaft into a cam case(6) of a rotation stopper fixed to the shaft, a slider cam(8) performing a sliding motion for restricting the rotation to the cam case, and an elastic part(9) pushing the slider cam to the fixed cam. The free-cushion tool comprises a free-cushion case(16) of the rotation stopper rotatively attached to the shaft, and a free-cushion ring(17) inserting the shaft into the free-cushion case and pressing the shaft. |
