PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel with excellent display characteristics. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel is provided with a first substrate such as a TFT array substrate and a second substrate such as a color filter substrate and is constructed together with a sealing material which is present on peripheral parts of the first and second substrates and surrounds a region where a liquid crystal layer is present on the outside of a display region, and fixes both the substrates. Additionally in the liquid crystal display panel, a black matrix region on the second substrate on the non-terminal side, vertical to a running into direction of the substrate in rubbing and with no alignment layer formed thereon is formed so as to be longer than the travelling distance of the substrate while a rubbing roll makes one rotation.
