摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the corrosion quantity of a cast iron pipe, and to rank the pipe relative to the deterioration degree, over the whole of buried piping. SOLUTION: The area under which the cast iron pipe is laid is partitioned into a plurality of blocks. The corrosion depth of the cast iron pipe laid under each block is expressed by the equation; y=kT<SP>a</SP>(y:the corrosion depth, T:an embedding period; k:a constant based on an embedding geology, a:a constant). The value of k in each block is determined by investigation on the corrosion degree of the pipe body at each embedding spot and the geology of each embedding ground.
